Social media isn’t just our day jobs, we live for this stuff. When we’re not snapping, gramming, or tweeting on behalf of our clients, we’re on our phones snapping, gramming, and tweeting for fun. We don’t “turn off” or take a break from social media during our off hours because we understand that social media doesn’t turn off either. We try every new social media channel and we’re constantly testing out strategies until we hone into what drives engagement and stimulates growth. We take social media seriously, ourselves not so much. 


Meet the Team


Mitzi Payne, Founder

Mitzi is a content marketer and social media strategist committed to helping brands engage with the online world. Armed with a journalism degree and a strong desire to make the internet a better place, Mitzi jumped into the world of marketing in 2010. She’s cut her teeth as digital marketing lead at Vancouver-based luxury lifestyle publication NUVO Magazine and MONTECRISTO Magazine, spent a year growth hacking for promising #EdTech platform HelpHub, to managing a community of die-hard Indie Rock fans for Zerbin. She even covered the U.S. presidential election in Washington, D.C. with the Washington Journalism Centre. When she's not staring at her phone, Mitzi is flying across Canada hunting for the perfect poached egg and dreaming of expensive couches.


Mike Stinson, Art Director

Mike is the creative brains behind all that we do and his work is anything but stale. Mike is charged with working with brands to develop strong visual content that brings value to their audience and aligns with their brand. He's shot campaigns for Spotify and has worked with Instagram, Snapchat, McDonald's, Lexus, and more. He also worked alongside DDB on multiple award-winning projects including the Not-for-Profit Print Series Award. His work is experimental and artsy, while pushing the boundaries just enough that it never goes out of your head. When he’s not behind the lens, he enjoys documentaries, board games, and exploring Vancouver's natural wilderness.


Sophie Hart, Content Coordinator

Hailing from sunny Brisbane, Australia, Sophie is our go-to content marketer and all-around social media pro. With over four years of experience at some of Australia's top-tiered marketing agencies, Sophie brings a wealth of experience to the team. She's done everything from managing PR campaigns, social media advertising for tourism companies, and has even led teams to do the most difficult thing of all: B2B social media marketing. She handles all of our content services and is a pro at adding a creative flair to our clients' channels. When she's not planning content at WAVES, she can be found eating her way through Calgary's food scene.
